The highest-ever Canadian LOTTO MAX jackpot is up for grabs at $80 Million tonight, and if luck has anything to do with it, an Ontarian could have a high chance at taking home the prize money.

According to OLG Director of Media Relations Tony Bitonti , the last six LOTTO MAX jackpot winners have been from Ontario, winning a combined $360 million in LOTTO MAX jackpot winnings.

This includes the most recent winners, Jennifer Stuart-Flynn and Kyle Murray from Iroquois Falls, who won $70 Million as first-time players in August.

In the past few years, Ontarians have appeared to have luck on their side. Between 2023 and 2024, Ontarians have won almost $700 Million in prizes and last year alone, over 7.5 Million LOTTO MAX prizes were won in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), totaling around $222.3 Million.

According to Bitonti, the odds of winning the LOTTO MAX jackpot in Canada are one in 33,294,800, while the odds of winning any LOTTO MAX prize is one in seven.

If $80 Million isn’t incentive enough, when Ontarians purchase an OLG lottery ticket, 100 per cent of the proceeds go back to the province.

“Contributing to the people and province of Ontario is the foundation of everything we do,” said Bitonti. “These funds help support a range of priorities, from hospitals and charities to responsible gambling, amateur sport, and beyond.”

Players 18 years of age or older can buy a ticket up until 10:30 pm EST on Sept. 17 at any lottery retailer in Ontario or online at OLG.CA for the chance to win. May the odds be ever in your favour.
