After more than four decades in business, a beloved diner in Toronto is closing its doors.
The Rosedale Diner will bid its last farewell at the end of the month and has thanked its loyal customers for all their love and support over the years.
“We’ve decided it’s time for us to hang up our aprons and retire. It’s been an incredible journey,” restaurant owners Dubi and Esti said on Instagram back in November.
“We’ve been so blessed to share so many unforgettable moments with both customers and staff over the years: first dates, proposals, birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, book clubs, clandestine celebrity lunch meetings, bachelorette parties, and even weddings (including our very own daughter’s). We were able to survive the rough times of COVID and come out the other end.”
The restaurant is asking visitors who decide to visit in its final weeks to take the time and leave a message in a book on site.
“When you come to visit us in our last weeks, please leave a note if you desire; we’d love to hear how the diner impacted you!”
And judging by the love left all over the diner’s socials, it will be gravely missed.
“The diner was the first restaurant we ate at when we moved to Toronto in 2007,” one Instagram user wrote.
“Such a staple in the community. Thank you for sharing your legacy,” another person said.
“End of an era indeed! I worked there with the previous owner! Can’t believe that was that long ago. Wonderful memories,” someone else chimed in.
If you want to visit the diner before Dec. 31 you can book your reservation here.
