Keith Lee is coming to Toronto and residents are already sharing their list of fave spots to check out.
The legendary food influencer is making a pit stop in the 6ix which took many people by surprise since he’s never done reviews outside the U.S.
“The next stop on the family food tour is our first international stop, Toronto,” he said in a video posted on Tuesday.
“[If] you or somebody you know has a momma and pop shop that has great food and great customer service and may need the marketing, please let me know,” he continued.
Lee asked that people tag him in videos, direct message him and send him an email in order to share their top recommendations.
He’s also interested in restaurants with different backgrounds and cultures.
As you can imagine, his comment section lit up with already over 6,000 comments in less than a day.
And Torontnians were not shy about putting their favourite establishments in his line of sight.
Restaurants from across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) were name-dropped with a quickness, including popular Jamaican spots like Rasta Pasta in Kensington Market, which was mentioned multiple times in the comments section, as well as Chubby’s.
And when scouring between discourses, Scarborough was mentioned too many times to count with many swearing it’s the place to be for food in the city.
For example, a handful of users shouted out Sahan Restaurant for its authentic Somali cuisine.
“Go to scarborough (just outside of the city) literally anywhere there,” one user wrote.
“PULL UP TO SCARBOROUGH,” someone else said.
“Just know Scarborough is where the good foods at,” another person chimed in.
Some hinted that he should explore more of the GTA too, including heading to Brampton for Punjabi food.
Meanwhile, some users apologized in advance for the prices he’s about to experience as inflation is at an all-time high in the country and Lee is known to pay for everything out of pocket.
