There’s a new restaurant in town that’s already creating some buzz for standing out among its peers.
Signature Restaurant is the newest addition to King Street West and has made a name for itself by claiming to be the only fine dining location that does not serve alcohol on the street, in the city’s vibrant Entertainment District.
And with Ramadan coming to an end and Eid following close behind on Wednesday, it could be the perfect location for Muslims across Toronto to come together and celebrate.
The restaurant owner, Rashid Hasan, told Now Toronto that providing an alcohol-free dining experience in downtown Toronto is important to him and his community, and ever since he got into the restaurant business over 40 years ago.
“I opened my first restaurant in 1979 Faisal Steak House in Belleville Ontario when I was only 23 years old, so now restaurant business is my passion and a hobby,” he said.
“We are promoting alcohol free environment because we are concerned about everyone’s health, so we are promoting non-alcoholic mocktails, beers and wines.”
I myself tried their Strawberry Daiquiri mocktail and found it refreshing and full of flavour.
The rest of the menu offers a wide variety of options including, but not limited to, high quality steaks and 10 different pizza options at affordable prices.
In fact, my favourite dish on the menu was the delicious 16oz rib-eye grilled steak and an authentic-tasting margherita pizza.
Its pastas are also freshly made every day and desserts are baked-to-order with the finest ingredients.
That’s not all it has to offer, the space is also decked out with state-of-the-art decor, shimmering lights and is a home to art work from some of the city’s most talented artists.
